Kowloon-Canton Railway, abbreviated to KCR, is Hong Kong's surface rail transport system.

The first section was inaugurated in 1910 and the first trains were steam-powered. Since then the network has grown to include 32 railway stations and 68 tram stations.

From 1982 the railway was taken over by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation.

Since 2007, KCRC has granted a service concession for several lines to MTR Corporation Limited, the other large public transport company existing in the area, also partly (51%) owned by it.
